The flight attendants are often still on their feet. They get nearly eighty per cent of the serious injuries caused by turbulence, and, for every one of those injuries, a 2001 study found, another seventy flight attendants get minor injuries. Nearly a third of the time, they have no idea the turbulence is coming.
